Company A, 2nd Battalion, N.C. Infantry

 

 

This company, known as the "Brown Mountain Boys," was organized in Stokes County and enlisted there on May 04, 1861. It proceeded to Richmond, Virginia, where it joined General Henry A. Wise's Legion and was assigned to Colonel Green's independent regiment, Wise's Legion.
